Kashagan: Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes
The situation around the sale of the share of the American ConocoPhillips in the North-Caspian project (8.4%) is entangled more and more. As it was earlier declared that Kazakhstan will decide the fate of the share on 25 May 2013, the Minister of Oil and Gas of the Republic Mynbayev announced on May 22 that the date is being moved to the beginning of July. "The decision [of the State Commission - Petroleum] is from July 2," – Mynbayev told Reuters, without giving reasons for the delay.

Zhakyp Marabayev: «Kashagan Will Work for the Benefit of Future Generations»
Petroleum continues its cycle of interviews “Generals”, with people who were present at the establishment of the oil and gas sector in sovereign Kazakhstan, people who, in terms of the status and authority they enjoy among their colleagues, can rightfully be called “oil generals”. Among those to whom this term can be applied in full is, in spite of his age, today’s guest.
He is just 50, and in 1993, when, along with Kadyr Baikenov and Baltabek Kuandykov, he was included by the head of state in the process of organizing the international consortium to carry out prospecting work in the Caspian Sea, he was just 31. In 1997 he was given the medal “For special services” by the president for this work, and was later awarded the order of “Kurmet”. Zhakyp Marabayev now works as deputy managing director of the company NCOC, and on the eve of the launch of commercial production at Kashagan he recalls how it all began.

On 30 May 2013, Astana was hosting Environmental Forum where nature users presented a Conception to amend the environmental legislation and other regulatory legal acts addressing the issues of special nature use, environmental charges, environmental permit obtainment procedure and calculation of environmental damage resulting from environmental pollution.

On May 16 in Almaty, the 1st conference of the republican public association "The Board of Commercial Lawyers “Kazakhstan Bar Association” (KazBar) took place. Kazakhstan Maritime Academy Opening Ceremony
May 24, 2013 the ringing of a traditional ship’s bell marked the start of a world-class maritime academy in Almaty. Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) is the founder of the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy (KMA). The KMA official opening ceremony was attended by the representatives of state authorities, members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, TCO Partners’ senior management, the public and media.
High Performance of Atyrau Meetings
The results of the region's largest exhibitions held in Atyrau, 16-18 April 2013, combined two subjects: oil and gas and construction - Atyrau Oil & Gas 2013 and Atyrau Build 2013. The exhibition was traditionally placed in the sports complex "Atyrau" and a temporary pavilion specially set up for this occasion. There were 150 companies from 15 countries attending the exhibition.
