October 2 NC «KazMunayGas» JSC (KMG) and international company «Schlumberger Logelco» Inc. have entered into a memorandum of understanding on cooperation within the 21-th Kazakhstan International "Oil & Gas" Exhibition and Conference KIOGE in Almaty. The main areas of cooperation under this Memorandum are evaluation and optimization of KMG deposits production, exploration, exploitation, production. The memorandum also provides for the training of KMG technicians through practical experience and by sending to Schlumberger units and training facilities.

TCO: World-Class Operations with Minimum Impact to Environment
Tengizchevroil (TCO) is a major producer and marketer of crude oil in Atyrau Oblast, a region of Western Kazakhstan, where the company operates the giant Tengiz and nearby Korolev fields. In 2008, TCO completed the Sour Gas Injection and Second Generation Plant (SGI-SGP) expansion, which increased daily crude oil production capacity to more than 75,000 tonnes (600,000 barrels). Communication without Borders
It is still believed in Kazakhstan that satellite communication is an omnipresent phone. Even on advertising billboards an oil-industry worker is often depicted holding a mobile phone and looking meaningfully into the distance against the blue sky background. This image has become so familiar to us that satellite Internet, video transfer, security control on pipelines, helping geologists with the data transfer, online conferences in steppes or at sea and the "SOS" button for anyone who might be caught in a difficult situation - all this seems unreal. Offshore and Onshore Support
On July 1, Astel signed an agreement as of July 1 with North Caspian Production Operations Company B.V. (further-NCPOC) on the technical support for the telecom systems at the Customer’s facilities. The agreement is concluded for the period until 2017. Astel is responsible for technical support and services for the telephone system, data transfer devices, alarm system, video surveillance around the perimeter, access control systems, fiber-optic lines and other systems, both onshore and offshore North Caspian project. For the first time, a Kazakhstani telecommunication company obtains the general contractor status in such an important project.
